KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and deliver technical solutions to deliver specific Powertrain solutions for current and future projects.
Develop and maintain knowledge, road maps to support product plans, design guides and provide training on using those.
Partner with global motor experts, external consultants, and suppliers to identify most efficient and effective technical solutions.
Coordinate all technical activities required to deliver projects, on cost, schedule and quality targets; this typically includes Simulation, Testing, building and leveraging global knowledge from other projects and regions.
Create and maintain a work plan to manage the detailed technical work and also a high level view to enable ongoing communication and alignment with senior leaders.
Proactively work with subsystem, component, and manufacturing engineers to identify feasible and affordable technical solutions to meet project Powertrain targets.
Develop knowledge at appliance level and understand Powertrain interaction with other modules and facilitate trade-off discussions.
Build technical capability for delivering results efficiently and predictably within your projects, creating and maintaining a motors roadmap.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Relevant experience in same or very similar role.
Motors and transmission comproved experience. Specification, testing and analysis.
Supplier quality management/problem solving (Brush life, Noise, Performance, etc).
Motor approval institutes knowledge (IMQ, VDE, UL, etc).
Practical experience in Product Development.
Project Management experience would be an asset.
Proficiency with MS Office suite / Google documents.
Academic and practical experience in as many of the following areas as possible:
Motor Application / specification.
Transmission components / specification.
Reliability / accelerated life tests.
Interacting with suppliers.
Leading projects
English is a must.
Analytical skills, critical thinking.
Leadership skills, conflict management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Sense of urgency and capability to work under pressure for multiple tasks.
Problem-solving attitude, protectiveness, teamwork.
