The Industrial Designer plays a basic role in the creative execution of various design projects and initiatives in the Laundry category, through hands on concept development, prototyping, and working to realize creative product solutions, from concept to production.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Laundry Global Design Manager, he/she will contribute to design projects from concept generation to their manufacturing implementation, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to aesthetical details.

He/She will apply data-driven insights to generate differentiated and innovative solutions that meet the needs of the customers, and will ensure the primary company goal that is the Product Leadership.



Generate design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs, cross functional team inputs or personal initiative
Generate prototypes of design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs and project schedule
Work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D to follow up and support projects from concept to production
Be an active participant in cross-functional project teams and global workshops
Proactively seek out ways to improve design and prototype processes, sometimes supporting human factors testing processes (Usability tasks, focus groups, In-Home observations, etc)
Utilize knowledge of multiethnic design and global cultural trends to design for various markets around Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia
Demonstrate excellent visual, written, and oral communication/presentation skills
Work independently as well as collaborate effectively in team environments led by the Design Manager and/or the Design Director and/or other category leaders
Manage multiple projects with critical deadlines and tight timing


REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design and/or Master
Relevant previous professional design experience
Proficient Portfolio with examples of products put on the market, and/or visionary design proposals
Fluency in relevant 3D modelling software (Rhinoceros or equivalent is mandatory required)
Fluency in relevant 3D rendering software (Keyshot preferred)
Proficiency in 2D design software (i.e. Adobe Suite)
Sketching abilities to communicate design intent
Solid and undisputed knowledge of the main manufacturing methods and materials, with a dedicated focus on plastic injection methods, Metal stamping and Color and Finishing technical applications
Understanding of various prototyping methods and ability to create hands on prototypes
Past experience design of appliances (small and major) is a plus
Possess a good understanding of the various cross-functional collaborative roles including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Design Strategy, Design Research and Marketing
Ability to travel (even by car) up to 15% domestically with potential for international travel (US, Asia)
Possess strong organizational, bureaucratic and time management skills
Fluency in English (written and Oral) is mandatory; Italian is a plus (but not necessary)
